The Resources Database contains relevant Smart Villages resources (including analytical reports, case studies, strategies, webpages, presentations, etc.) identified and collected in the framework of the Smart Rural 21 project (2020-2022) and later in the framework of Smart Rural 27 project (2021-2023). Many of the resources were directly developed in the framework of the Smart Rural projects (for instance smart village strategies or presentations made at events), whereas others are external resources identified to be relevant for Smart Villages. The database is continuously being enhanced until the end of the Smart Rural 27 project, and users can search by country, type of policy, type of organisation, type of resource or free keyword search.

The community coding programme is delivered in the form of a training course that focuses on delivering a practical output to meet an identified need within the community. This is in contrast to training programmes which limit themselves either to the theory of computer programming or made-up practical exercises. Led by a community trainer, local people are able to build their programming skills gradually, all whilst working together to build a real product that will be made freely available to serve the local community. The solution thus not only builds new digital skills amongst the local community, but also builds cooperation between community members and delivers a usable product at the end.

Through a common online platform, these facilities can be searched and rented by individuals or small teams looking to work remotely in the area. All the facilities offer well-designed spaces for work, normal to high-speed internet access (at least 50 Mbit/s) and generously sized desks with comfortable seats. Meeting rooms, printing services, plenty of electricity sockets, good lighting, comfortable room temperatures and the possibility to brew or purchase coffee or tea are also standard.
