A series of events are organised in the course of the Smart Rural 21 project:
Smart Village Academy events are targeted at participant villages of the Smart Rural 21 project: the selected 21 villages as well as the Come Along! Villages. The main purpose of these events is to enable exchange of experience and peer-learning among representatives of rural communities, as well as to build capacity to develop and implement smart village strategies. 2nd Smart Rural Academy (23-24/02/2021)
Four regional workshops will be organised in the course of the project. The purpose of these workshops is to present and discuss with a wide range of stakeholders – including representatives of participant villages, regions, policymakers, private sector stakeholders, etc. – the topics of Smart Villages as well as the outcomes of the Smart Rural 21 project to date. The workshops aim to raise awareness about Smart Villages as well as contribute to drawing practical conclusions and recommendations.
The first regional workshop is expected to be organised online due to Covid-19 (in March 2021). Information coming soon.
The final conference aims at presenting the final outcomes of the project with a focus on how Smart Villages can be developed and implemented according to specific local conditions (reflecting on the diversity of rural contexts). It will bring together some 150 participants, representing a wide range of stakeholders including local level village and citizens representatives as well as private, civil society, research and policy organisations from all (regional, national, European) levels.
The Final Conference is expected to be organised in May 2022.
Other (ad hoc) events will be organised depending on the specific opportunities and stakeholder needs. Among others:The Smart Rural 21 project hosted a session at the European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC) in October 2020.
